OMP Mechtron Spa opens a new plant in Batesburg, South Carolina (USA)

Following the opening of a new plant in Mexico last May, OMP doubles its presence overseas thanks to the opening of OMP Mechtron LCC in South Carolina.

?pened on July 30th 2013, OMP Mechtron LCC, originated from an acquisition of a local company with two plants in Batesburg and in Columbia respectively.

The aim of OMP is to serve the American market and to take advantage of the synergies with the -mechanical engineering plant recently opened in Guadalajara (Mx). The South Carolina company will be the main partner for wiring and electronic integration.

The objective is to create some synergies with OMP Mexico and to conform to the American rules of “Buy America”.

Moreover, the opening of a site in the United States is part of a whole business strategy whose core is OMP Mechtron’s need to diversify its business by opening up to some expanding markets such as the transport market.

From the Company’s viewpoint, the opening of this site is a very important step that OMP group is taking to grow internationally. This will inevitably create new business opportunities and further visibility with well-established customers as well as new ones.

The American NewCo, which completes the Mexican plant, reinforces the Group’s strategy which is to be present in the three key business areas of the world to equally serve its customers in Europe, Asia and America
